Oddballs
April 19, 2008
This is one of the video podcasts which I enjoy and try to watch when I have time. I especially love listening to the background sounds. I want to share today’s with you!
I consider myself an oddball and I love the thought of embracing my neurosis. My cousin Christy and I actually disagree which one of us is the most unique, strange and the biggest oddball!
Enjoy the very short video:
Beach Walks with Rox
(It combines two things I absolutely LOVE – the beach and DOGS!)
Major decisions…
April 14, 2008
Today’s the day we make a major decision. It’s great to have choices. It’s difficult to be certain we’re making the best choice.
It’s a positive thing but still brings stress!
learning curve …
March 3, 2008
I’ve only “played around” with the auction site since opening my account in 2002. I currently have a record number of 49 auctions running right now and I have a lot more rooms and boxes to go through. It is addictive! I love it and I’m always anxious to get to the computer to check my auctions.
I have a learning curve … but I’m working on it! I’m being sure to provide great customer service and I’m going to ship very quickly!
After I’m through cleaning out, organizing, downsizing and moving, then I’ll refocus on having a Dogs Reign store!

the original, the 1st, the founder of Christian Comedy – Mike Warnke
February 26, 2008
Mike Warnke was the FIRST comedian I ever heard of that was a Christian.
I had the privilege of seeing Mike Warnke in “concert” at a large venue in Columbus OH in the late 80’s or early 90’s. It was absolutely a great experience. The comedy show had me laughing. His ministry message was powerful and thought provoking. Mike Warnke’s message was very refreshing to me.
Years later, through my husband and his work in the media, radio and record and our efforts with our church with planning events, we’ve had the opportunity to meet Mike Warnke and his wife Susan and to spend time with them on numerous occasions. Mike Warnke is hilarious on and off stage and they both have a heart for ministry.
We attended a Christian Comedy Association conference a few years ago because Mike Warnke told us about it and invited us. It was great to see Mike and to meet other comics including Nazareth, Mike Williams, Thor Ramsey, Justin Fennell, Dan Rupple, Bone and others whose names escape me at the moment but faces I’ll remember! I have a lot of pictures from that event which I’ll share sometime. It was amazing to learn just how many Christian Comedians and Clean Comedians are working today.
After a successful career in media, Marty Daniels now has his own radio show, does voice over work and has been doing comedy full time since 2002. A few years ago, Marty Daniels had the opportunity to open up for Mike Warnke. It was a great show which took place at Grove City Church of the Nazarene!
I hope someday our paths will cross again and we can have Marty Daniels and Mike Warnke share a stage! Mike Warnke and Susan came to mind today so I am praying for them and reminiscing about Mike’s shows, books, dvds, cds, vhs, and even old cassettes I own.
I have pictures which I’ll have to locate and post eventually!

Talented Songwriter & Singer — Jonathon Aaron Porter
February 25, 2008
Marty & I had the opportunity to HEAR and MEET … Musical Artist – Jonathon Aaron Porter on Saturday night.
He is a very talented songwriter and singer with a heart for Christ. It was obvious before he took the stage and then, the lyrics are strong and the words Jonathon speaks on stage leave no room for question.
His wife Elke is very supportive and a great asset in this ministry they’ve chosen to do together. It is always encouraging to see other couples working together as I’ve found it to be both rewarding and challenging.
I greatly enjoyed the music style, lyrics, vocals and guitar by Jonathon Aaron Porter. If you are in need of music at your next gathering, please consider this talented artist!

lost?
February 22, 2008
Are they lost?
If they are teaching others something that is false, are they lost?
I’ve received a lot of slack lately because I occasionally watch Oprah when I’m visiting someone who owns a TV and I occasionally visit her website or read a book she recommends.
I’m not sure her message is much worse than some messages I’ve heard in “Christian” churches.
Is the leadership in a church wrong when they tell people they have to “dress in church clothes” to come to church or to “wear your best to church”?
Is the leadership LOST in a church when they tell people they can’t come to church, camp meeting, etc if they are not dressed a certain way?
I guess I think those pastors are just as lost as some may feel Oprah may be. I’m not anyone’s judge. I believe in Jesus and I’ve never had a conversation with Oprah to find out if she does or does not. I know these pastors I’m thinking of talk a lot about Jesus but I feel they are pushing people away from ever having an opportunity to meet Jesus with their man made rules.
Just my humble opinion today!

We’re researching and reading everything we can about building with straw and adding some GREEN and sustainable living things to our lives.
I’m very interested in building with Straw due to the numerous benefits. I’ve got a stack of books from the library which we’re reading.
Any recommendations?

Skin crawling!
January 15, 2008
My skin was crawling recently as I sat through a church service listening to a pastor teach untruths.
It was so difficult to sit still. My heart wanted to walk out. My brain told me that wasn’t the right thing to do.
I am so saddened that there’s a group of people gathered three times each week to listen to a pastor who is leading the “flock” astray. I also realize it is not just this church that I was visiting. There’s many churches out there with leadership not teaching the truth.
It is heart-breaking to me to realize that there’s a lot of people, within the United States that may sit in a church every week or visit it on holidays and yet never know of Jesus Christ.
